“The intelligent factory has become wireless” is the title of an interesting interview with the CEO of Cisco Italia, Agostino Santoni, which is released today on the “Affari e Finanza” of la Repubblica.
Santoni explains what is behind the main processes of industrial digitalization in Italy, talking about some key cases and explaining why Cisco, the connectivity global player, has chosen Alleantia among as its partner for the great challenges of Industry 4.0 in Italy.
“The challenge now is therefore to create these homogeneous systems – explains Santoni CEO of Cisco Italy in the article – This is why we have started a partnership with an Italian start-up, founded in 2011 – which has a database of about 5 thousand industrial systems on which to build the software that makes them talk to each other. “
A technology developed by the Tuscan start-up aimed at improving productivity and safety of companies, making it possible to extend the life cycle of machine tools also by interconnecting those natively not equipped with sensors, yes even wifi, thanks to “refitting”.
The interconnection allows companies to collect and understand data directly from the machines, and then make them intelligible from other operating systems and pass them in the cloud, from which it is possible to operate on the specifications of each single machine even from a simple tablet.
“Before this transformation, for example, the transition from one assignment to another, could take up to 18 months of work with operators who had to intervene on each individual machine to set up a new industrial system – explains Santoni – Now time is reduced a few weeks, with in-commensurable advantages in terms of time-to-market. “
A real revolution.
