Typically, machine manufacturers provide remote assistance through a “router,” additional (physical) equipment with wifi connectivity or mobile telephony, enabling a virtual private network (VPN) for data security and remote access.

 

However, this configuration has 3 limitations:

 

  • physical hardware
  • VPN platform provided by the router vendor
  • routers administered by the machine manufacturer

 

Alleantia overcomes these obstacles by eliminating physical hardware and implementing remote assistance functionality by leveraging the computer already in the machinery (HMI or control element in the case of PACs

ACCESS AND CONTROL ANY INDUSTRIAL DEVICE REMOTELY AND SECURELY

 

Alleantia remote assistance has the advantage of being multi-vendor.

The vendor can access the company’s VPN network which already has active VPNs for a variety of functions. Alleantia can, however, be combined with “open source” VPN facilities (such as “open VPN”) or with proprietary solutions provided by major vendors, should the end user not have their VPN infrastructure.

ENCRYPTED REMOTE ACCESS FROM ANYWHERE, ANYTIME

 

Alleantia’s remote assistance overcomes vulnerabilities related to VPN network management, allowing temporary inhibition of remote-control functionality through a special switch. By enabling it, those who are physically operating on the machine inhibit any kind of remote operation, beyond whether the VPN is active or not, and security is total.

 

Then the operator on the machine can decide when to use the remote control. In the case where the VPN is managed by the machine supplier, deactivation via the switch secures the end user from unauthorized intrusion. The Alleantia solution, thus conceived, is to date unique in the remote assistance industry.
